The crib and all of the accessories are out of knotty alder wood and glazed with a black glaze. The changing table is also a dresser, and once you no longer need the changing table part, just take off the changing pad and it just becomes a beautiful dresser for your child to grow up with. The wall shelf is also customizable, you can have it be a quilt shelf, or if you want, a shelf with knobs so you can hang stuff on it. My wife wanted to show off the great baby quilts she got at her shower, so we have a quilt shelf.
